IMMIGRATION X-RAYS
WHAT IS IMMIGRATION /VISA CHEST XRAY
- The Department of Home Affairs requires all persons applying for a South African Temporary Visa, which exceeds 3 months in duration, or any person immigrating to South Africa, to submit a Medical and Radiological report.
- Your medical practictioner needs to complete your medical form (Form BI-811)
- The radiology form (Form BI-806) will be completed by AfriRad Medical Imaging after an immigration chest xray has been performed to rule our Tuberculosis
WHY DO I NEED A CHEST XRAY FOR IMMIGRATION?
The Department of Home Affairs of South Africa requires that all prospective immigrants have a chest X ray to rule out any communicable diseases such as tuberculosis.
DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?
No appointment is necessary for the Chest Xray
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING ALONG?
Please ensure to bring along the original copy of your valid passport
HOW LONG IS THIS EXAMINATION VALID FOR?
The examination is valid for 6 months
WHAT WILL YOU PROVIDE?
- A single view chest radiograph will be performed
- A detailed report confirming whether you have tuberculosis or any other communicable disease will be provided together with a copy of your chest xray image
- An official completed signed and stamped Form BI-806 will accompany the report and image in your envelope, to be submitted to the Department of Home Affairs.
